The health care sector is one of the most important aspect which plays a pivotal role in shaping the economy and development of a country. Apart from doctors, the demand for paramedics, who function as the backbone of any medical industry, is on a all time high. Also called the “Allied Health Forces”, paramedics offer assistance to doctors to deal with emergency situations, and perform other technical roles.

An O.T. Technician is associated with the healthcare profession and is responsible for assisting doctors during surgery, arranging the required surgical instruments before the procedure , ensuring the working condition of equipment before it is brought in to use and maintaining the proper upkeep of instruments by properly cleaning them once the surgery is done. This role also involves understanding and executing the instructions given by the surgeon during the surgery, and keeping a watch on the unheard devices. When it Comes to their area of operation, they work in operating theaters, intensive care units and emergency departments of hospitals and their primary job is to assist doctors and surgeons during surgery or emergency procedures.

It is a course in the field of paramedical science, and the professionals who specialize in the field are called diploma medical laboratory technicians. We have all seen them working behind the scenes, collecting our blood samples, studying and analyzing these samples, preparing the reports and working to have a positive impact on our health.
